I am a primary teacher of 10 years with teaching experience in Scotland and England. I have PE lessons for primary 1-7/F2-Y6 and reading resources, mostly focussed around Year 3 and 4. With teaching for 7 years in Year 4, I have also uploaded some of my planning and resources which I thought may be useful to others.

This bundle contains a six week block of whole class reading lessons for Year 4 on The Butterfly Lion by Michael Morpurgo - I use this as my Autumn term book. The pack consists of teacher planning, children’s booklet, assessment grids and smartboard presentations with the questions and answers for the modeling lesson (lesson 2 of each week).
There are 3 lessons per week:
the first lesson looks at independent reading time followed by taking turns reading to ensure children understand the passage and any vocabulary they come across
the second lesson looks at children getting used to finding the answer within the text. Children are given the time to find the answer for the question on the whiteboard which is then modeled by the teacher on how this should be done and what a ‘good’ answer would look like. Separate smartboard presentations are also included for each of these lessons with the questions and answers displayed in them (the questions and answers can also be found in the teacher booklet).
the third lesson of each week is the independent lesson when children will be given the time to read the appropriate passage and answer questions independently in their booklets. The teacher can then RAG rate their answers using the assessment grid which will allow them to work out in what type of questions children are good at and where they will need more practice (the type of questions are listed on the front page of the children booklets).
Small, colour co-ordinated checklist which can be used alongside a good example of a non-chronological report in which children can identify the features by underlining using the appropriate colours. Used in Year 4 but could be adapted to also suit other KS2 year groups.
Non-chronological report success criteria to display on whiteboard and smaller one which can be stuck in books for children to have a focus when writing or used as a marking aid. In red is what the non-chronological report must include. Used in Year 4 but could be adapted to suit other KS2 year groups.
For supporting SEN children in LSK2. One document with pictures prompting children to think about what information they would need to include in a non-chronological report about a country. One document containing sentences with missing words which children can fill in using the information they have found. Can be used to support SEN children in mixed ability pairs or as a group with support from an adult.
2 week planning block consisting of 8 lessons relating to Haiku, acrostic and free verse poems as well as 2 stand alone SPAG lessons - one on noun phrases and one on expanded noun phrases. Resources are not included as I do not own these resources but they can be found quite easily on Twinkl, the internet or using a resource related to a topic you are working on.
10 simple sentences SEN children in LKS2 can work on either independently or with the support of an adult. Children can read the sentences and then identify the verb, noun and object in each sentence, underlining with the appropriate colour. Comes with answers.
Pitched at Year 4 level but could be adapted for Year 3/5.
